Dairy-Free Pie Crust

Makes two 9” pie crusts.



  • 2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 TBSP sucanat or sugar (optional; omit for savory recipes)
  • ½ cup chilled coconut oil
  • 6 – 8 TBSP ice water


  1. Add flour and salt (and sucanat if using) to bowl of food processor and pulse to combine.
  2. Add chilled coconut oil and process until crumbly.
  3. Add ice water 1 TBSP at a time and pulse until dough is moist. It should be easily formable into a ball but not sticky.
  4. Form dough into a ball then divide into two equal portions. Roll each half out onto floured surface to form 2 circles. Dough should be 1/8” thick and 1 inch wider than the pie pan. Bake according to recipe directions.
